Christmas Card Swap 2020

Every month the cardmaking group I belong to offers multiple card swaps. This month, I only participated in one of the card swaps but decided to combine some of the elements from all the different swaps offered.

There was one broad category for Christmas Cards, a category for gatefold cards, and one that called for a recipe. Then, of course, there was a free-for-all where you could design anything.

Although I entered the broad Christmas category, I decided to make a gatefold card using this adorable digital cardstock from CaperuzaSketch called Hot Cocoa

Surprise! I also included a recipe card. The theme was too perfect not to include a recipe for a Peppermint Mocha. Yum!

All of the matching graphics were available in CaperuzaSketch's Etsy shop. Normally, I like to color my own images, but I didn't have matching alcohol markers.

As always, I also made sure to finish off the back of the card.

Here is my simple recipe for making a Peppermint Mocha. Less time in the kitchen means more time in my craft room!

The second card I chose to make also features digital papers from CaperuzaSketch, and it is simply called Christmas

Once again, I decided to include a pocket so that I could tuck in a recipe.

My family loves this recipe, which I renamed Reindeer Snacks in honor of the holiday. I found it years ago at www.gimmesomeoven.com. In fact, when I showed my husband the completed card, he promptly reminded me that I haven't made Energy Bites in awhile. That was his subtle hint that it's time for me to break out the peanut butter.

If you have any questions about either of the two cards I showcased today, please do not hesitate to ask. I love reading your comments and questions.

Enjoy your holiday season, and I will look forward to seeing you next week!
